Grace, Mercy and Peace be unto you from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. It is with great joy that we welcome both first time students and returning students to the Pilgrim Ministries of Atlanta's Ministerial & Leadership Institute.
For the past 15 years, Pilgrim Ministries of Atlanta has offered biblical education, leadership and empowerment training to Atlanta's local churches, government and civic groups, corporate America and surrounding communities. Recently, however, we have received a mandate from the Lord to extend our educational programs beyond the borders of metro Atlanta and extend to the body of Christ in general.
We spent many hours prayerfully creating and refining the curriculum so that it would be practical, yet challenging and enjoyable for you. Throughout all of the classes, you will be provided with curriculum that will assist you with developing and improving your ministerial and leadership skills. As a byproduct, this should better equip you to serve your Pastor, church and community at large.
We are not only instructors, but we are also students. We know that there is a lot of information to absorb in these quarterly intensive weekend sessions, in addition to the completion of assignments by the scheduled due dates. We encourage you to talk to our staff if you have any concerns or questions. Most importantly, we would like you to know that we are here to serve you.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to impart what God has given to us for you. We pray that when you complete these modules that you will be equipped, empowered and ignited to do greater works for the Lord.

 PMLI Statement of Purpose
The Ministerial & Leadership Institute is designed to enrich, educate and empower Christian ministers and leaders. The program concept was birthed by Dr. Kent and Dr. Diana Branch as an extension to the School of The Prophets Institute for Leadership Empowerment implemented at The Pilgrim Ministries of Atlanta in 1995. The Bible-based courses offered by the institute are designed to provide a solid foundation and education to ordained elders and laypersons.
Certificate in Christian Ministry
The Ministerial Institute is designed to provide stimulating theological study to those who seek to serve in the five-fold ministry. The goal of the Ministerial Institute is to equip ministers, elders and deacons for ministerial, pastoral and leadership responsibilities in congregational and other ministry settings. The certificate in Christian Ministry also prepares persons for ordination and provides competency in:
• Studies of Scripture
• Pastoral Functions
• History of Christian Tradition
• Liturgy
• Systematic Theology
• Sacred Ceremonies
• Christian Ethics
• Other sacerdotal (religious) duties
Certificate in Leadership
The Leadership Institute is designed to enrich persons in church leadership positions or other forms of lay ministry and to equip them to become more effective leaders in the body of Christ. The Certificate in leadership equips church leaders to assist their pastors, direct auxiliaries and relieve ministry burdens. Courses include topics such as:
• Church Government
• Church Administration
• Spiritual Protocol
• Servanthood
Certificate in Specialized Ministry
The Certificate in Specialized Ministry (CSM) may be pursued subsequent to the completion of a two year certificate (or by an approved waiver by the Deans). The CSM provides students with the opportunity to maximize their potential to become subject matter experts in four areas of ministry:
1. Prophetic Music & Arts Ministry
2. Deliverance/Evangelism-Outreach/Intercessory Ministry
3. Homiletics: Teach & Preach the Word
4. Christian Counseling (State requirements and licensing are still necessary to be obtained by the student).
*Please note: The CSM will be conferred to students for completion of two years. This can be fulfilled by:
a) completing one full year in two specialized ministries, or
b) completing two full years in one specialized ministry.
For example, a CSM candidate can complete one full year of Prophetic Music & Arts and one full year of Christian Counseling and receive a Certificate in Specialized Ministry.
